Peer Group Connection Leadership

Peer Group Connection Leadership

In partnership with the Center for Supportive Schools, we offer the Peer Group Connection Leadership Class, in which select Juniors and Seniors learn to facilitate weekly socio-emotional Outreach Activities with our Freshmen. They also facilitate these activities with our Adult staff on our Chancellor’s Conference Day Professional Development Days! Our Peer Leaders learn valuable leadership skills for college and career while supporting our Freshmen in the transition from middle to high school. Each Outreach follows the below Activity Based Learning Cycle. And our Peer Leadership Class is structured by the 5-Step Outreach Cycle.

Program Objectives

  • To get to know each other better through activities and discussion
  • To examine our values, roles, and relationships and how they impact our choices
  • To learn how to solve problems more effectively and make healthy decisions
  • To develop the confidence and skills to be successful, personally and academically
  • To become more supportive and appreciative of others and more respectful of differences
  • To work together to enhance our school community
  • To support each other in our efforts to achieve all of the above
